What is a BayTreat
A BayTreat is a hand-poured, hand-cut artificial bait that is soaked in shedder crab oil. It can be fished solo, as a teaser, or tipped with other natural, live, or artificial baits. They are approximately 4.75-5 inches in length and come a minimum of 16 Strips per tub.Â
What can I catch with these?
These were originally designed to target Summer Flounder but have landed a wider variety of species, over 30 species from Rosefish, Whiting and Haddock in New Hampshire to Southern Flounder, Red Snapper, Bull Redfish, and Ground Whiting in the Gulf of Mexico and Florida. BayTreats have even won Cash Tourneys and Calcuttas off Fluke in NJ and DE!
Where are these made?
Like many companies, I started in my garage. These baits are poured, cut, and packed right here in the United States of America (Cape May County, New Jersey to be specific) and always will be!
These days I have gotten fancy and moved to my basement.Â

How Do I Rig a BayTreat?
Simpler is better. For the most universal set up, simply hook the BayTreat once in the widest end and let it hang long. I was always taught that a long bait looks most natural in the water. Now you can fish the BayTreat by itself or you can pair it with other artificial baits, live baits like minnows and sardines, or other cut baits like squid or mackeral strips. You can do this with bare hooks, or your favorite jigs or bucktails. There is no limit to the uses! I have begun a series on YouTube that will show the proper usage of BayTreats. How should I store them?
Keep your BayTreats in their original tub and ensure the lid is sealed tight after every use to prevent the shedder crab oil from leaking or drying out. Store them in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight for the longest shelf life. You may notice the shedder crab oil has "dried up", but the reality is the Baits have absorbed it. There is no need to add more oil, but any fish oil or scent can be added. I recommend just a few drops of plain Mineral oil to refresh the baits, but I assure you, none is needed. A BayTreat will simply absorb the oil and remain supple for a long period of time in the tub.Â
